Through Emmy art+, we would like to present truly precious, and beautiful artworks beyond time, places and genres.
In today’s society with the unpredictable, unclear future, art will give us a hint of going ahead with courage by confronting the true nature of this world unseen but actually present. We would like to make an opportunity for our visitors to be awakened by the value of artworks as familiar, irreplaceable things in this society or in their daily lives.
Emmy Co., Ltd. has worked on many art curations of a variety of genres and advices of building art collections in Japan and overseas, at the office in Japan and at our branch, EMMY INTERNATIONAL LTD., Hong Kong. As our new challenge, we will launch emmy art+ in November, 2021, for the place of our new expression and of communication with our clients and visitors. The word “+” in its name expresses our challenging spirit of generating something new insatiably; We will try to establish a new kind of art space while nurturing the invaluable relationship with artists, clients and partners.
Our gallery will hold unique exhibitions of artworks by crossing over a variety of genres of art including contemporary art, modern art, craft, and antiques under our own themes. Particularly, we will try to exhibit crafts to confront the new perspectives and reality of contemporary art beyond the traditional definition of fine art.
We also work on collaborative projects and advices of art collections with insights of international art movements and market trends, prompting collectors’ and artists’ communications. By deepening the connection with CKG Fine Art in Paris, the art galleries and institutions in Hong Kong, and many other organizations in Japan and overseas, we will spread human relationships for appreciating art as our common language beyond national boundaries.
Our space will give you relaxing atmosphere to enjoy artworks with gentle natural light and green ivy and vines swaying by wind. In this space, we will make an internal conversation with any of you who comes to us with sincerity, with a lot of affections for all the artworks we will present, which should be a manner needed in this age all the more.
Profile of
Eriko Taira
Graduates from Aberdeen University, UK with MA in Art History and from Glasgow University with Mphil in Art History and Authentication at Christie’s Education in London.
Established Emmy Co., Ltd. in 2009 and EMMY INTERNATIONAL LTD in Hong Kong in 2013. She is developing an advisory business that shows the depth and utilization of art collection construction not only in Japan but also in Hong Kong, a major city where artworks from all over the world are gathered. In addition, She actively engages in art event and exhibition curation activities, and holds collaborations and special exhibitions with galleries and artists in Japan and overseas. In 2016, she started WADO PROJECT, which disseminates Japanese crafts overseas. In 2019, she engaged in the guest curator of the “Inheritance / Japan Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition” sponsored by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department in Hong Kong.
